Smoking: Resources to Help You Quit

Washington State Quit Line
Currently, the Washington State Quit Line only provides services to people enrolled in the Washington State Medicaid program. Call 1-800-QUIT-NOW to talk to a counselor.
 
SmokeFree.gov
Smokefree.gov can help you or someone you care about quit smoking. You can get immediate assistance, including a step-by-step quit smoking guide; information about a wide range of topics related to smoking and quitting; an interactive U.S. map highlighting smoking information in your state; LiveHelp, National Cancer Institute's instant messaging service; National Cancer Institute's telephone quitline, 1-877-44U-QUIT; and publications to download, print, or order.

The Lung Helpline is a free resource for those who need help with any lung health issue. You can speak directly with a registered nurse, respiratory therapist, and/or quit-smoking specialist from 7:00am-7:00pm Monday-Friday Central Time. The Helpline can make referrals to local resources, such as doctors, support groups, etc. and has translation services available for non-English speaking callers. American Lung also offers a Freedom From Smoking on-line program for anyone interested in quitting tobacco.

Daybreak has been successfully treating teens for tobacco, drug and alcohol abuse for over twenty years. Daybreak operates two inpatient treatment programs in the state of Washington, and serves teens from around the Northwest. Outpatient treatment services in the Spokane area are also offered.

Group Health’s Free & Clear group program helps you prepare for quitting, set a quit date and stay tobacco-free. The five session program is available to Group Health members at no cost. Non-members may participate for a limited fee. Telephone-based services for members are also available at no cost through the Free & Clear Quit for Life Program (800) 462-5327. www.ghc.org

The Inland Northwest LGBT Center
