Helmet Safety
Helmets reduce the risk of brain injury by 88%. Everyone that rides tricycles, bicycles, scooters, skateboards and roller blades should wear a bicycle helmet to prevent injury. Everyone who skis, snowboards, skates and sleds should also wear a helmet appropriate to the sport.

SafeKids Spokane
Unintentional injuries are the leading cause of death and disability for children ages 1 to 14. Safe Kids Spokane is one of more than 600 coalitions in the US working to eliminate these types of injuries. Areas of focus include: safe traveling, helmet preventable head injuries, pedestrian safety and fire prevention. Strategies include car seat checks, presentations, community events, and policy changes to protect all citizens from unintentional injuries.
