Physical Activity and Nutrition

The Health District's Physical Activity & Nutrition program works with community coalitions, elected officials, citizen groups, and other organizations to change policies and the environment – making it easier for people to be physically active and have access to healthy foods. Our work includes educating policy makers, mobilizing the community, and proposing best practices that connect the physical environment (streets, sidewalks, paths, location of food outlets, etc.) with health, particularly obesity, diabetes, and heart disease. Call 324-1530 to get involved, or for more information.
