Laboratory

Spokane Regional Health District maintains the only public health laboratory in eastern Washington. The laboratory supports emergency response in several ways.

  • We are the Laboratory Response Network (LRN) reference laboratory for Eastern Washington and provide surge capacity for Washington State and Northern Idaho. As part of the LRN, the laboratory tests for select agents of bioterrorism in both clinical and environmental samples.
  • We work in coordination with the Washington State Public Health Chemical Terrorism Laboratory for training and exercises as a Level 3 chemical terrorism laboratory.
  • Trained personnel control the spread of infectious disease through on-going and emergency water testing services.
  • We provide training for sentinel laboratories and offer on-going packaging and shipping classes.

Call 324-1440.
