New – View Restaurant Inspections Online

The Spokane Regional Health District's Food Safety Program has launched a new web page that lets the public view food safety inspection results from every licensed food and beverage establishment in Spokane County.

"Having access to this type of information lets consumers see the track record of any restaurant they may want to go to," said Dr. Joel McCullough, Health Officer for the Spokane Regional Health District. "We've been working for a long time to transfer our information systems into a format that is more accessible to the public."

The website allows searches of the results of inspection reports going all the way back to 2005. If there were violations (problems) at an establishment, the site shows the particular items which caused an inspector to order corrective action; and in some cases to issue an order closing an establishment for severe or repeated violations. The site provides an explanation of all of the items listed on the inspection reports, and will soon offer additional features for the public.
