Volunteer Opportunities
The Spokane Regional Health District welcomes community involvement in public health issues, advocacy and activities. Youth and adults are encouraged to get involved in one or more of these volunteer opportunities:

Public Health Emergency Volunteers
Volunteers are needed to support public health efforts during certain emergencies such as an outbreak of infectious disease or other community health threat. A wide range of skills is needed to perform volunteer tasks such as: greeting the public, data entry, providing health information and administering vaccinations. Volunteers must be 18 or older. A variety of certifications may be required for those volunteers performing medical tasks. Training will be provided for all positions. A variety of coalitions are led by the Spokane Regional Health District and encourage public involvement, including:
Peer Education Groups
Teens interested in developing leadership, team-building and communications skills while helping their peers make positive, healthy choices are encouraged to join one of the peer education groups facilitated by the Spokane Regional Health District:
Other peer education opportunities are also available in the Spokane community. The SAIL (Self-Acceptance is Life) and HYRO (Helping Youth Respect Others) peer education groups are facilitated through Camp Fire USA, (509) 747-6191. The SPAM (Spokane Peer Abstinence Movement) program is offered through the Spokane School District. The Odyssey Youth Center facilitates the LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning) group at (509) 325-3637.
Internships
Students interested in fulfilling practicum hours or other school requirements to complete a higher education program are encouraged to apply. Choose a program or program areas of interest/focus and submit a letter of intent and resume to the Human Resource Services at or 1101 West College Ave #345, Spokane, WA 99201.
